The preoccupation with growing old and her obsession with gray hairs leads a woman to pluck out her gray hair.
“Preoccupation (Gray Hair)” deals specifically with women’s obsession with aging. In this work I am criticizing these pressures and standards of beauty. It was made on my 35th birthday when I was still grappling with the dilemma of whether to keep my gray hair or to color it, and also as an attempt to remain young.
