During a residency program at Governors Island—and being inspired by its military history—I cut out the colored shapes of a blue-camouflage fabric. The name of the residency (Building 110: LMCC’s Art Center at Governors Island) was stamped on the back of each piece.
For our Open Studios weekend on October 8-10, 2010, each visitor was invited to take a piece with them as a souvenir of their visit, so the piece disappeared slowly, one piece at a time.
Special thanks to friends and public who visited during that weekend and took a souvenir with them.
