Installation of 100 tissue papers, red lipstick and red high-heel shoes
45.5 x 131.5 | 116 x 334 cms
Using the lipstick as a painting medium, I made this installation
evoking the red carpet used in religious marriages, representing the
fairy-tale fantasy some Latin women expect to happen when getting married.
While working on these imprints of my lips on each tissue, September 11th occurred. We were already living in NYC.
